Driving down a cracked dirt road
storm clouds rolling in
the pivots turn slow.
On a grass field
colored green and aged yellow
a black pick-up truck
sits and hums.
A blanket in the bed,
ignition killed by his callused hand.
Passenger door opens,
tailgate falls,
he lifts her
she crawls
he follows

All the questions
you swore
you’ve answered
made sure you knew
cripple all confidence.

Nature to man
Mirror meets image
Emotions to color
Laughter to voice
Silence brings out your inner voice.
