One of my biggest “I told you so”

Make me accountable.

We
cross reference our mistakes
and
share wisdom, that
we ourselves never listened to.

The morals of our parents,
we once thought had so many flaws,
now define the love life
that has been repeated for decades;
just different people, different order, different world.

“I told you…
to be best friends first.”
“We are, and you’re right,
it does work.”

“I told you…
if it’s meant to be it will happen, but you’ll never see it coming.”

“I never knew he liked me.”
“I don’t want to jeopardize the friendship.”

For me,
and hopefully many others,
the rest is history…..
