Six.Nine.Twelve.

Her heart is racing,
her knees barely hold her up,
and she takes shallow breaths.

This moment
use to feel so simple
when she created it in her head.

Her family sits in chairs.
Her grandparents stand on either side.
Her music begins to play.
Her feet begin to move
one foot in front of the other.
She can't believe she can walk.
She feels like she's in a haze.

In a white gown
she walks towards her parents.
Her mother softly tearing up.
Her dad tries to hold them back.
She smiles the biggest smile
she has ever showed the world.

This is the moment,
when 'I'
turns to 'we'.

Her parents let her go,
with a promise
that home is always here,
with faith in her to never
lose herself,
and to take on this new adventure
with all that she has
fully knowing he won't hold her back.

Her strength doesn't waver
as her eyes meet his.
Two people
who are both themselves
and love one another.

Their now holding hands,
exchange rings,
share a kiss,
and now they are Mr. & Mrs.
